There a million and two different ways to make margaritas: frozen, with pre-made mix, extra simple syrup, with fruity flavors, add a sangria swirl. But I find it hard to enjoy those sweet, sugary margaritas for long. I prefer a simple, not-too-sweet margarita simply made with tequila, triple sec, and fresh squeezed lime juice. You don’t need any added sugar! These are perfectly tart and refreshing on their own.
I made these for a work happy hour the other day and everyone raved about them. Sometimes it’s the simplest of recipes that are the absolute best. I love to make these at home to unwind on a Friday night, and (usually always) with a side of chips and guacamole.
My Favorite Margaritas
A classic, super easy margarita recipe that requires no sugar or pre-made mix.

- 3 ounces fresh lime juice
Combine ingredients in a mixer. Add ice and shake until mixed and very cold.
Pour margaritas over ice in two glasses. Serve with a lime wedge and salted rim if desired.
